Awhile back I did a 6 color sketch of my car. Axis shirts saw it and ask if they could put it on a shirt. I said yes in exchange of a few free shirts. I drive a hard bargain, huh? I thought it came out pretty well as a one color. They removed the logo I had on my plate as well as my fishtail exhaust.

Inspired by Church, the great photographic magazine created by hambs own "road apple", I created my own online photographic magazine covering mostly scandinavian traditional rods and kustoms. All of the pictures featured in this magazine has been treated in order to give them a 40's-50's color postcard look. These are some of the pictures I have finished so far! Hope you like em :)

The lace is actually imbeded in the lucite. I got a couple pieces in some scrap that was given to me awhile back. Evidently it isn't produced anymore. Pity.
Back painted gold flake, purple and dark magenta pearl one shot.

Here's a piece done by a local high school kid. My Fleetline is at the high school body shop as a practice car for them to paint some primer on. Anyhoo...one of the instructors is Toadfrog on here and he showed me what this kid had pinstriped after only a couple of weeks playing with a brush. I was pretty impressed that he came up with something reasonably symmetrical and with some weighting to the lines. This kid has some promise!
Nice work everyone!

This isn't as polished as my other stuff but I drew this on Nintendo DS. The small hand held video game device. I moded it so I can draw on it. Very cool program called Colors. It's kind of fun to watch.

Another art show:D,I couldn't let it go by this time without doing something. I been working on a big fantasy car show scene, like the oakland roadster show in 64-65, something like that. Here are some sketches so far. Coloring it will be next, and I might add some more cars too. Your looking at Winfield's Solar Scene , HAMBER Rod Powell's Merc, Cliff Inman's Chrysler, and Frank Gould's 58 Impala. Got to get those Astro 5 slots down pat on the 58. The new Rodders Journal ironically has vintage pics of Oakland just in time to inspire me ! It must be my lucky day.Everybody have a good time.

For those interested in using Colors you have to do a few things to get it to work. Follow this link (http://colors.brombra.net/faq.php#23) and it tells how to do everything. If you do try and have trouble feel free to write me and I can help you out. I struggled with it a little myself.

I finally got a chance to break in my Aztec airbrush. I used it for the first time on a piece of art. Up till now I've only used airbrushes on models but ever since H.S. it has been my goal to use one to 'draw' with. I'll probable use it for backgrounds for a while...
I posted this piece back in '06 when I joined but the background was photoshopped in. The original art was almost ruined by a water spill (water with black paint from a brush that is.) So the flames became a must and so I saved the piece. The scanner doesn't do it justice. Also, I may go over the window w/ the brush to add glass glare and to reduce the detail, maybe...

Thanks a lot. Yes it tracks all your strokes and makes the movie for you. As far as time was concerned I would spend about 15 min here and there every night. So probably about 1hr to 1.5 hrs of time spent drawing it. I am working on another one and I will post it for next weeks artshow. Man I rally appreciate such a positive response. This week has been an amazing show...
SuperFleye- dig the tones on your photos, they are done just right... not overdone like you see all too often
Buick59- really dig the wagon, I have always dug the effect created by lighting up the interior of a vehicle... gives you that cool "christine" like look and feel. The broken glass in your photo creates some really cool highlights.
A quick drawing from me that ended up on a letter... quick stuff always turns out better... really captures the mood I look for in my monster type drawings

American Carrozzeria
I'm going to go out on a bit of a limb here and
have you consider a couple of American hot rodders
in the same company as Bertone and Pininfarina.
Dean Jeffries and for that matter Gene Winfield have to be
viewed as domestic coach builders; more than just your shade-tree
customizers, but designers who create coherent themes
with flawless construction. There's a big difference here
though. Unlike their European counterparts these men
wield as mean a torch as as they do a pencil.
The cars they created were hot rods... but more than
hot rods. Whether they were bubble topped beauties or race
tinged future brutes they were one thing...
American conceived and American built.
For me, Jeffries and Winfield represent the true American spirit.
Perhaps a little over the top. But that's us.
Modern cars, both domestic and imports seem so cynical
when compared to the in-your-face honesty of a hot rod
or a ground scraping custom.
Here's this week entry.
Dean Jeffries Mantaray.

the course at the RCA is very good and seriously respected....just make sure they don't turn you in to a formulaic, house style, robot.
Stay with your style mate just do it with modern cars.......start with a 2 door, couped up Stype Jag.......don't for get Ian Callum, the head of styling at Jaguar has a trad 32 3 window....and one of the first people to do the RCA MA was Peter Stevens.......Lotus styler, Mclaren styler, and the last head of styling at MG Rover...he also has a T speedster and used to do the illustrations for Custom Car magazine in the UK

Y'all ever get the feeling the bar is raised higher and higher every week? I mean, I don't have time to work on my car, much less pump out AMAZING art EVERY week. My hat's off to you guys. Damn. Do you ever sleep?!
THis might just be my favorite show EVER.

My lunch break isn't long enough to post individual compliments of everyone's work, but man-o-man this has been a great show! I've been going back and looking at everyone's work several times this round.
And thanks for the compliments many of you gave my work! It means a lot coming from such talented people.

here are my contributions- you see the work in an early stage and almost done (when do you walk away?)
I read this quote somewhere: "An artist's work is never finished, but merely abandoned." I like it and it works for me. Super painting!

Flyingpolak Great stuff!
Nice paintwork Clydsdale
This isn't as polished as my other stuff but I drew this on Nintendo DS. The small hand held video game device. I moded it so I can draw on it. Very cool program called Colors. The really cool part is you can watch how I drew it here (http://colors.brombra.net/details/3801-Dusty_Rod_by_FutureElements.php) just scroll to the bottom and hit the playback button. It's kind of fun to watch.
That is sic! I love to see the type of mediums you guys are using to create your art (especially hot rod art). I don't know if it's because I'm on a Mac or that I don't have the right plug-in for my Safari browser but couldn't review your "how I did it" on your link. Nevertheless, this is tremendously creative, inventive and total hot rod ingenuity!!

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Mr. Polack I've actually been using Illustrator for several years (I'm a screen printer) but more as a type setting tool and for simple graphics than an 'illustrator'. I've been dragging a squeegee for 14 years and I'd like to start transitioning from the print side to the design side but I'm a bit 'Olde Skool' having gotten into the graphics biz before computers (and dirt). :)
The stuff on your site is fantastic BTW!
