Anyone ever used these? They are what Autozone carries for my '62 Bird. Just wondering what the quality is like as they seem to have the best prices around. Thanks.
I've used Badger pistons in some SBC rebuilds. They seem to be OK and cheap. Personally I'd try and find something a little higher quality if you're gonna "drive it like you stole it". At least for piece of mind...

I gotta agree with Zman on this one. Good pistons for a budget/stock rebuild but they are no Arias,JE, Keith Black pistons. It all depends on what you're goingto do with your motor.

An honest assesment of how you will drive this car should give you a path to choose. Badger has been around for year's. Check out Northernautoparts.com for price quote.

Thanks for the responses guys, this will be a fairly hot rebuild, 400+ hp is my goal. bump up to 10:1 compression via tri-power pistons. And I plan to drive the snot out of it. What about hi tech rebuild kits? I think thats what they're called, again from the autozone website.

Flexi, I think it was Bill Clinton's pants that were dropped not Monica's. Remember, she was on her knees speaking into the microphone.

Flex: If your planning anything more than "Under-Powered-Stock", I would'nt use those pistons in my lawn mower.
Call Northern and have them get you Sealed Power pistons and rings. They have the complete rebuild kits too.

Thanks for the help guys, one more question though, I'm finding plenty of rebuild kits for the '66 and later 390's but next to none for my '62, can I use one for the later engines on mine?
