Has anybody used por-15 (paint over rust-15)for some rusty metal? All of the info that I have seen on it seems pretty "scientific" and credible, but I have yet to hear an actual account of anyone that has ever used it. My only thought on it would be that if it DIDN'T work, I'm sure it would be pretty tough to clean off without destroying whatever you put it on.

works great on rust but it's got to have the rust to grab on
to. if you paint it on a smooth surface it will peel unless
you scuff it up good with some 80 grit.

READ THE DIRECTIONS on the can, then HEED them to the letter. Period.

Of particular note is a phrase that says if you get it on your skin, there is only one thing that can take it off: Time!

Unless you are gonna paint a lot in a short time, I highly recommend getting several smaller containers rather than one big one. This will maintain the shelf life much better.

Great stuff. I put it on the floor panels of my shoebox with a brush like they recommend and it was smooth and shiny like a gloss paint job......yet still stong as hell!

Have used it many times........works well!! But if you paint anything that will be in direct sun, the paint finish will get cloudy after a while........good luck!

I've used it many times. This stuff works. Here's tip. Wash your hands really good before using the clear POR. If your hands are dirty and you get clear on them, the dirt is trapped under the por and your hands will look dirty for 2 weeks.
The silver POR will turn a greenish color in the sun after a month or two.
The POR rust convertor is the best I've used. It's advised to use it before applying the POR paint. I've used the paint over treated and untreated [with the rust converter] and the paint is much stronger after using the converter.

Super stuff for heavy pitting and surface rust. This is not a top coat! It is a primer and looses its adhesion qualities if it is exposed to sun during the drying process= sun on primer = shitty paint job. You will have to wear it off if you get it on you and it does contain isocrinates so get yourself a damn good resprirator.
