my dad and i shaved and painted the firewall on my Chevy. well, i did the prep work and he painted it. so, here's the what the results look like. however, the way the DP90 came out was not what i had planned on. anyway, take a gander and enjoy.

here's a pic of the rear...nothing special. i want to do a new taillight treatment, probably '50 Ford taillights mounted vertically and possibly a different rear bumper.

Brandon, it looks good. are you going to paint the fire wall or leave it primer? are those after market heads? here is a thought for the back end.

Hiding them in a set of bumper guards would look slick on that car, too.

Car is looking good!

I would go with something glossy on the firewall. Gonna be hell keeping that primer from getting spotty with engine fluids. Primer is hard to keep looking good. Just my .02.

thanks guys for your great comments, it makes it that much more better. i'll try to address everyone's comment. first off is lowsprings. i will leave the firewall in primer or flat black. we used DP90 but the end result came out like dark gunmetal gray. so, i'm going to re-shoot it with a black basecoat then with a non-glossy clear. the body of the car will be the same way. i don't care what people say, i love flat black...well flat colors in general. for the roof i was thinking HOK Candy Red Basecoat with some flake, keeping with the red/black style.

i'm not sure what the heads are but my dad painted them that way to make people think they're aluminum heads. the first picture you posted is what i'm looking for. those lights and a rear bumper similar to that. any idea what it is? also, any idea on what bumper is on the car in the 2nd pic?

Curt Six, i was thinking of doing lights in the bumper guards. do you know of any cool bumpers with a neat bumper guard treatment? sorry for the looong message.

the first pic. i think the bumper could be the front of a 54 Chevy or the back of a 50 Pontiac. my 54 front bumper looks like the back of that one. the tail light are from a 49-51 ford shoebox.

for the second pic. i have no clue

your dad fooled me by painting them. i thought they where aluminum. motor and car look good.
