Saw a neat T coupe at the T Club swap meet Friday. Black, full fendered, mild chop, red wire wheels (Buffalo ? knockoffs), hot banger -- Cragar, I think. Spare tire cover said "Bell Auto Parts". Very unusual proportions and details, strong-sounding motor. Anyone else familiar with this car? Have pictures?

I took some pics of that with my sons digi but I don't know how the dang thing works (he left for camp yesterday). The Coupe you speak of is Joe Mac's old car and one of my MOST FAVORITE cars ever!!! This is the reason I will hopefully be doing a feature on it in the future as long as Morty doesn't need it held for Hop Up- look at the title page in the latest Hop Up and you will see a vintage picture of Joe waving from the driver's seat. It now belongs to a man named Nick who formed the Forever Four club and still has the very first club plaque on his Model A roadster he built in 1954. That T coupe is BAD ASS- hopefully you will see it in R&C soon along with a story on Joe Mac.
I've collected up a few of those old 76 Travel Decals because I always loved the ones in the back windows of Joe's cars- he told me he put the first one in the back window of his '32 Coupe in 1939!!! It was from Corona Del Mar- he said that sounded really exotic to him.

That Coupe is one of my favorites also. It acts right from any angle. I have pictures but I'm terribly stoopid and don't know how to post them. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Wayno

JimA, you are of course correct, the photo in Hop Up V is the same car. I'm surprised to learn that it was Joe Mac's, and even more so because I've never seen it before. Always loved Joe's A Sport Coupe that Morty has now.
Thanks for the ID, guys. I'll look forward to seeing it in R&C.
