Well, this isn't for a rod or custom, but it's towed many a project. I've got an intermittent problem with a lifter on my "project retrieval tool", 1993 Chevy z-71, 350, geared 3:73 with stock size tires, automatic overdrive, hypertech chip. I think the last time the lifter collapsed it also flattened out a lobe on the cam...just doesn't feel right now, definite loss of power. Runs fine otherwise, no oil consumption, even though 170k miles. Thinking of replacing the cam, lifters and timing chain and gears, hoping to get another couple of thousand miles out of it before a rebuild. What would be a good choice of cam for this combo, used primarily for towing? I also plan on switching to a Edelbrock Performer TBI manifold (which I already have) as part of the swap. Any info appreciated.....
