I have hid in the shadows of the HAMB board for some time before deciding to register. The love of vintage cars is obvious on here. Rats, gassesrs, custom, whatever it doesn't really matter. It is cool to find a place where people talk about working on their own cars instead of plopping down a stack of cash like the gold chainers. I am fairly new to the rod thing but have been involved in Fabrication for a long time. I have built everything from Custom Jeeps, Harleys, Choppers, VW out of other peoples toss offs. My lastest project is a 26 T coupe. Unchopped for now. 1964 283 v8, T-5, funky independant front suspension,etc..Here is a pic of how I got it 3 months ago. I have been working steadily on it for the last month. I know the wheels are ugly and I have some steel wheels replacing them real soon. I will also post a pic of the car now. I am trying to get it together for a local cruise coming up in three weeks.

I am planning on building a 29 RPU that has been sitting in my buddies garage for 20 years...I figure with the tall roof of the 26 and no roof on the 29 I am somewhat even...Chop is planned for later. I am in the process of building a shop on my property. Once I can get the car inside out of the fog, I am having a shop warming/top chopping beer guzzling party...

The car was passed back and forth between two friends for the last 25 years and never hit the road..They just kept redoing what the other guy did.. I did brakes, steering, finished the lame ass independent supension(for now)body work, interior etc.....I bought it from one of the guys brothers who had no interest in it. He got it in the will when his brother died..

YUP, I am putting on some steel smoothies...and dumping the 1982 american racing......Gotta wait till I get back from Belize though. There is nothing like going on vacation when you're right in the middle of a build...EVILT

I also wanted to know if there are any HAMBers near San Luis Obispo -, CA. area.. We have lots of cars around but most of them are hiding in garages and not being driven..If so they are more than welcome to come to my Top choppin', shop warmin', beer guzzlin' shin dig....EVILT

One of the cars on my "favorite cars" list! Nice work and welcome. Although I gotta say I like em better un-chopped. The tall cabs is what makes them what they are! JMHO

Welcome to the HAMB. I love your T.
Why does everyone think these cars need to be chopped? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

it doesnt need to be chopped it needs to be channelled
It also needs an I-beam axle and the independent suspension sold to a Street Rodder. The wheels and tires need to go to muscle car guy.
Welcome Evil,
Love the T (even if I did help work on it) and to all the HAMBers that are wondering, it would be channeled except for the funky frame the previous owner put on there. Once the shop is up, a new frame may be in the offing.
And nobody mention the wheel thing to Mrs. Evil, she doesn't know another set has been purchased.
