Need some help? I have been trying to buy a used, nonepa approved, paint both. I have an old barn on my property, Great storage for projects, but the center is 14 feet high and 16 feet wide. I wanted to do a paint booth in the middle. Can not find one worth the price so how can I turn this space into a paint booth. It has water elec. and air.

Grab a note book pad. Go visit as many body shop's as you can stand! Take note of lighting, filter's, exhaust fan's , water trap's, air hose, compressor's, layout's of booth, drainage, air line's, booth door's and hardware, temp and humidity gauge, large clock in and out of booth, grounding chain for static, mixing table, paint and primer storage cabinet's, buying solvent's in bulk, stainless bench top for easy cleaning, gun cleaning kit and area to to so, wall's of booth that are bright and easy to clean as well. Surplus stores' to score some of the above to save $$. Plenty more info from the HAMB to follow.Good thread to save.

easy way is to frame it out of 2x4's making boxes for lots of lights . sink the lights in from the back side with glass glued flush to the walls.go to a a/c sheet metal shop and get some thin cheap galvinized metal to cover the inside of the walls and ceiling set up an atic fan in the back wall with a remote belt driven motor. make the doors out of 2x4's and plywood with 4 cut outs for filters. covert in side with more metal. seam seal all the joints and get some cheap weather strip from home depot. paint inside bright white and enjoy painting everyones cars http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You might want to peruse autobodytoolmart (http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/booths.html)

I'm not suggesting you buy one of these, but looking at the designs might give you some ideas.

Thanks for all the help. The inside is framed with 2x4 and there is storage on both sides. Guess i will line with sheet metal then paint white. Going to go look at a few shops tomorrow and get light ideas. want to keep it hidden from the epa lol
