Hi,
I was told about this site by a good friend of mine in Columbia, SC. He runs a Hot Rod shop outside of Columbia. His name is Pat McCutcheon. His shop is Hot Rod Fabrications.
I have a '39 Chevrolet in very early stages. Pat along with a good friend, Ed Murphy helped set up the frame with a Nova sub. Currently has a 348 in it but it's got a log way to go.
I really enjoy the site and its made me change my mind about the car. I really like the early look with the steel wheels and whitewalls. I also enjoy the articles on the salt flats and dry lakes. I am thinking to make a trip to Bonneville's speed week this year or next. Will see how things go.
Anyway, just introducing myself.

Hey man! Welcome from another Georgia member. You should come the HAMB and Grits brunch tomorrow morning that the north GA members do. There's a thread in the main forum with the info.

Getting too many guys from Georgia. We are getting jealous over here in Alabama. Not enough of us to get together for breakfast meets and such so I go to Railroad Cafe by myself on Sunday for breakfast.LOL

That's good. I knew a lot of guys in Columbia from Early Wheels and another group. Confederate something. Good group of guys. I had the car and just getting started so it has sat for a good long while.
Not sure who is all still kicking. Bo Woods, Randy Nash, Harry Delage and Ed Murphy. Harry and Ed died a few years back. Ed had some very obscure iron in Lexington. Ed was a good neighbor and friend as was Harry.
I am looking to get my daughter situated in college and start working on the thing again. I hope. :-)

Hey Ace. I am in Snellville, pretty close to just about anywhere in Lilburn. You are in a good area for parts and know how. Are you on the 29Hwy side or the 78 Hwy side?
Ace Barker

Very close to 78. behind Yellow River Game ranch. My neighbor does a bunch of 409s. I bought some stuff from him a while ago but haven't been to his shop off of Buford Highway.

Sadly, a LOT of the guys are now dead.
In addition to Ed and Harry ( who both married to the same women ...at different times :) ) Tony Noletti, Olin Hoover, John Atkinson, Mr. Lewis , Charles Kincard, Charlie Cannon ... :(
I was DEAD ... for 5 or 6 minutes. In 2001, I had a heart attack @ home but the EMS guys jump started me and I am doing pretty good now.
Get in touch when you come to visit your 39 ...

Yes he lives about a couple of streets away from me. I met him a Charlotte years ago. I have bought a few things from him.
Someone around here had a flat black 59 El Camino. Used to see it all the time.

Possum Lake has water in it. They dredged it out after a lawsuit against Lowe's. Said the dumped a bunch of silt in it. Now has an iron fence, sidewalk and some nice Lake Lucerne banners. The house the old ladies owned is a Starbucks of all things.
