I just bought a Hallock windshield frame to my -29 rpu project. I think it`s some reproduction frame `cause there is two separate parts and no groove for the windshield.
Does anyone know anything about it??
Sorry i don´t have pics yet, but soon...
Jaypee, The windshelds were as far as I know always in two pcs. Yes it is a repop, they were made here in Calif buy a friend of mine, He had some of the grooves cut and then decided not to add to the price and sold them as cast. You will have to take it to a machine shop for the grooves. As far as installation it is a file to fit, you must cut off the stantions for it to drop in the holes left behind after cutting stantions off. I hope this helps, good luck.--TV http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks TV. How people usually mold the centerpost together.
I think everything else is pretty easy.
Jaypee, I don't believe they mold them togeather, The ones I've seen are just fitted togeather very well, and polished I'm almost sure that none I've seen were welded. Now as far as the back side holding I think they use non headed alens from both sides, not sure on that one though. But I will find out for you.--TV http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

SUCKER!
I've got one of those. Put it on my '29 Phaeton. I had to narrow the cowl slightly to make it fit. Mine came with no tabs that fit in the door posts, so I had to make bracketry that bolted the corners to the top of the posts. I welded my two halves together after I fit it to the car and clamped the center pieces together. That added a lot of rigidity to the body which needed it because I removed the dash (cut tank). After that, it's a grind and file operation to sculpt a decent looking and fitting frame from the rough castings.
I hope you preservere, they do look good.

I`ve been busy working with frame, motor mounts, boxing,zìng,
etc.I`m gonna post some pics little later.
A little "tip" I learned after installing my repop Hallock: The halves are not perfectly in line from the outside ears to the centers...lay each one on a solid, flat surface, and very carefully bend the protruding end down until you have an even surface; otherwise, your glass channel will be off.

I must admit this is one of the cleverst crossmember-trans mount-pedal bracket combos I have ever seen. Very cool. I suppose you going split bones. Will they mount to the rails or to that K-member too?

Cool car you got there. Pretty much same visions that i have http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. The holes in boxing plates are laser cut.
What transmission you have behind that 8ba?
Interior looks killer http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
thanks klazurfer..
there is a 3 spd overdrive there, it is nice.

That is now NICE looking K-member. Anything that's well thought out and "one off" can really add to a cars character. Well done!!

No i really mean that the machine uses laser beam to cut the metal. Plasma is a different thing.
Btw. i`m planning to channel the body 4" any pics about that? and i mean subframes etc. How it`s done by you guys.
Some of you were asking where you might buy a Hallock,my friend has the patterns and sells them his name is Rob and his number is 714-523-7759 hope this helps.--TV http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Finally i had some time to start channeling my Rpu.
It would be a lot easier to use square tubing for subframes, but i like the look of original subframe.
