Ok folks here it is, over a thousand miles long. At least I had AC!! We drove them without an episode, real hotrodding!

I took almost five hundred pics, here is 99 of the finest.

Hot Rod Reunion Pictures (http://groups.msn.com/ZekesHAMBerChat/elpstriptochrr.msnw)

I took a few at night but my little Digi-cam couldn't cut it. That and I suck at taking pictures. Enjoy!

He was a bit worn out, but Ronnie was the real roadster hero. That old guy held up well! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think the offroad adventure story of jerry should be told . <insert laughter> http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif .He almost had to get a new seatcover.cool pics !

seatcover my ASS! he bout needed a new truck! damn old bastard aint getting me back in that truck for a long time!

I just know that that drainage ditch passing under the front fender was not a good sign in a truck that sits a few inches off the ground, and the 8 in concreet pipe in the ditch didnt look too good either, but by some sort of divine intervention we must have flopated right over that ditch and back on the road.

Man, what a weekend. Rattle Can Nats on Fri. morning, CHRR Friday afternoon and all day (I mean all day) Saturday, and land speed racing at El Mirage dry lake on Sunday. I saw Gene Winfield make two passes in the "Thing". Drove a 50 year old machine 1400 plus miles. Things don't get much better than that.

Wow!
What a great bunch of pics El-P!!

So, Gene Winfield is driving the re-creation of the THING... Did he build it?
Sam.

Yep Sam, the re-created thing was built and driven by "Uncle Gene" hisself.
