is it gonna be cool and "retro?" with a big badass neon sign and old speakers on the poles etc.?

or just a crappy wanna-be?

Thought about adding a 3rd sheet and going bigger but this is hanging on the back of my house.

One of the first test images.

While I was working in Santa Cruz Bolivia in 1977, they had just built the first drive-in in the country. The biggest difference was if you wanted something from the snack bar you flashed your parking lights and a guy came running from the snack bar to take your order. BTW they had cold beer and I'm here to tell you, they have good beer in Bolivia. Be nice if this could catch on in the states. Served good empanadas too (not sure if empanadas are spelled with an i or and e).

Funny, here in Mansfield, we have 2 drive-ins that are still open from the 50's(might even date back further than that) and are packed every night. Still have the working neon signs and everything.

That's cool. One more reason to move back to Dallas.
What would be cool to is if we could pick out the movie to watch. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was just looking at that site again and I can't beleive they are actually putting speaker poles up instead of broadcasting the signal to your radio like most drive in's do now.

I hope that works out and that everyone does'nt steal them.

Not to be nitpicky but Ennis is south of Dallas, not east. Maybe I will have to go take in the drags and a movie when it cools off a bit. Now if I can just get a bunch of my buddys to ride in the trunk...

We go to the old 66 drive-in in Carthage MO. It's located on route 66 and has been restored to original condition. The owner is into cars and when he restored it he left a row of speaker poles for hotrods without radios.
