Hi all my name is Mike and I'm from New Britain Connecticut. While growing up in the early 60's I had two older brothers that were into cars and drag racing (thank God because I hate circle track) and of course the disease rubbed off on me. I really love the old days before big corporate sponsorship, not that that's a bad thing, but I think some of the individuality that was drag racing is gone from the sport.
I was a frequent spectator at our gone-but-not-forgotten local track, Connecticut Dragway. I have tons of pics that I'd like to dig out, scan and post but that will be coming.
My main passion is Oldsmobiles, but I love all makes and models as that's what makes drag racing unique. I'm more of a street guy and do alot of cruising to local shows and cruise nights. I belong to the national Oldsmobile Club of America and our local chapter, The New England Olds Club. I do try to make it to the drags every year as I need to get my burnt rubber and nitro fix satisfied. Thanks to the internet I've collected alot of vintage drag racing pics and that's how I found this forum a few weeks ago. So now I decided to stop looking and start posting.
I've already blasphemed and posted pics before I introduced myself but that's how excited I am about drag racing. Hope to chat with alot of you guys, and hopefully ladies here.
