Last one (a HAMBer, too). Can ya tell I like the fendered, un-chopped ones? I like the nekkid ones too, but I don't fit. Apologies to anyone whose pictures I ripped off.

34Fordtk, That's the only pic I have of the orange wheels. It's a SoCal truck and I think the picture was taken at Donut Derelicts, but I don't think I shot it. Probably found it on the net.

Mine was pretty straight when I bought it. The seller got it from the original owner's daughter in '68, took it apart and never did anything more with it. After moving it from house to house in a basket for 35 years, he realized it wasn't happening and offered it for sale. Luckily for me he was well organized, never lost any of it, and kept it out of the weather, so when I got it, it had 35 years less wear and tear than most of its classmates.

here's a picture of mine ,again. if I have it on the board too often I don't mean to be pushy.
it's all steel except for speedway rear fenders.
it also is a so-cal survior for the fifties.
as far as I can find out it was rodded in '57 or '58 by somebody in Passadena who shortened the bed to the back of the frame.

hey wes, I heard you inherited that cab from dave.
I picked that cab up in austin for 150 bucks, traded it to dave for god knows what. maybe you'll get some good use out of it. it probably would have rotted to the ground with the rest of the junk that dave's got lying around.
I waited for you guys to come by and look at those parts

I liked that truck so much that I did a quick photochop on it. This is what I plan to build. I channeled the cab 5" and made custom hood sides to fit. I also added a small panel with bead detail to fill in the frame space under the bed. The top was chopped about 4". I like longbeds, but shortened this one by about 4" to keep everything in nice proportion. I'm going to use this pict as inspiration. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is the actual '34 PU I owned from 1960 til 1973. The guy I sold it to took 25 years to get it like this. When I owned it it was multy colored primer, but the pipes were much louder. One more great car that slipped thru my fingers.

Here's a shot of my heap as it sit's tonite. 39 axles, 34 cab, 32 bed, 46 wheels w/ well used 600-16 rubber, 62-64 -327, 6 hungry stromberg 97's behind a 39 truck (hell yeah) grill shell and LOTS of work to be done. The under construction chassis features repro 34 frame horns from the cowl forward, from the cab back is 5x2 tubing that,s been contoured to follow the cab up inside the cab. The front axle will be suicide mounted with the spring either hung from the bones or mounted from perches atop the axle with the rear axle being hung from the gennie 39 transverse spring...

Nice truck A bomb. What all did you do to it.What motor was it running?

A-Bomb
11-29-2003, 09:42 AM
I used a 1967 nova L-79 350 h.p. 327. Tme motor was original except the cam(general kinetics-270 duration) and the oil pan set up. The trans was a turbo 350 and the rear was a 1968 chevelle 12 bolt. the front axle was a bell tube 4" with 54 chevy brakes. The rear was 83 ford escort coils and ladder bars. The bed had new oak and stainless with seatbelt latches to hold the gate shut. I will post pics of the int. and bed. Thanks, Dale oh yea, I didnt know the motor was 1 of 6 produced for the nova in 1967 till after I sold it LOL...

Stupid Question 101; What is the differance between a the 32,33,34 cabs? I've heard people say there was a differance.

I have 2 cabs one that looks like this one(note the bodyline under the rear window)
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/image_uploads/178447-fla32pu.jpg

I also have a parts cab that has a very nice back section and roof that I want to graft to the other and make one cherry cab.

The parts cab looks like this one(again, note the bodyline under the rear window)

Start saving a few bux..they ARE out there.
I sold a 29 a little over a year ago for around 800$.

A good friend sold a late 31, complete for around 2000.

A pickups are affordable in my oppinion..
It's a matter of being in the right place at the right time, and having the money to make the move when it comes.

Without cash, you may miss out on the deal of a lifetime..
Once you have a few dollars in hand, spread the word your looking to buy one..
Word of mouth can do GREAT things in the search for tin.

I told a good friend i wanted a tin '32 coupe...in a matter of months he located one.
And for the first time, i actually had the money stashed.
3000..'32 ford 5 window..

Just keep your mind on track man, you'll get your A.

I think your words were..."I didn't want to make him feel bad."

i really like the Jimmy White built truck. here are some more picture of another truck posted above. This one was being auctioned on the auction website a few monthes ago. i saved the pictures I liked it so much. I believe it was in the New England states somewhere... very classy..

the red oxide one was recently on ebay as well. i like that one too..

also the bare metal one i like. I stole this picture from an old thread.

The last picture is my truck...the day i brought it home.

I can't help looking at all the different styles here.
And every one has its own theme. I love these years and all the different styles.
If I ever think of selling you guys need to kick me in the nuts.

I've seen your truck at a couple of the runs when I was living over there - it's very nice! I like it a lot! :D

heres mine. its now undergoing a change, ---- gettin lowered right now, the bone is split & drilled with pipes welded in, buick drums, new brakes.
the chrome reversed w/spiders & dropped light bar with deuce lights are already on & the front bumper is in the garbage. -
& before spring the 283 will be removed. the firewall will be painted something 'wild' & different & a nicely detailed candy gold 327 will be going in probably with a tunnel ram.- (undecided on what intake.)

i may then slice a little off the top (only a little bit though)

I sold my 32 pickup in 72 and have been looking for it every since. It had a new 59AB Flattie and was 2 toned with maroon on the top and a peach color (kinda) on the bottom. Some one in the 50's made a set of stainless steel stacks up the cab complete with mufflers wrapped in ss. They were small tubes, about 1 1/2 inch. Man I miss that truck.

It was last seen in Eatonville, Washington
