ive about decided im going to run friction shocks on the front of my dodge. ive never run a set before, so im looking for some info. what size rods and ends should be used to make the linkage? i dont want to run something thats too small, but i dont want to run a huge ass ugly setup either. also, anyone looking to sell a nice pair? thanks

Friction shocks work best on light cars, If your car is on the heavier side I wouldn't use them. That said if you want them, try Dave Wilton at 530-872-0122. He makes them and supplies the links if you like them. I made my own from heims and threaded rod.--TV http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Not friction and not on the front, but when I put the hydraulic lever shocks on the back of my jalopy I used 3/8" male and female hiems threaded together for the links.

1/2" looked way too big and they didn't have 7/16", so I settled on 3/8".

The biggest thing to remember about friction shocks is that they work exactly opposite what is needed to dampen road shock.
There is loads of friction at rest, so much so that it hinders the initial suspension movement. Then, after it does starts moving, the friction goes way down, due to heat.
And the damping is the same for compression and rebound, which also does you no good.
I'd try to use some lever shocks, like MGB units.
