FED EX SUCKS ASS, not just ANY ass mind you, but GANGRENOUS, PIMPLE INFESTED HOMO CADAVER ASS from the BODY FARM in KNOXVILLE...

Jerry was kind enough to send me a transmission, free of charge, other than shipping...I was happy to hear this, as the four speed was what I really wanted for use in the '56 pontiac...

here is a pic of what their website has to say about the item of which I am speaking.

Next stop: Phoenix, AZ.

If I had only known... I wouldn't have refused it when they tried to drop it at my house. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I sent them an E-mail on July 18, before they shipped it out again to send back to Jerry...I called the toll free number they listed only to get a computerized message system that had NO option to speak to a live representative, out of frustration, I started hitting numbers on the keypad of the phone...guess what? even though they dont tell you in the options, you hit zero, and get connected to a live person...for what good it does...sheesh...

I calmly told them my problem, and was asked what address it was suppsoed to go to, I asked the operator to what address was it shipped, she said she could not give me that information...WTF? anyway, I told her my address, and she said it was attempted delivered here, but was rejected by the person at the door? uhm....NO ONE LIVES HERE BUT ME, I said, to which she replied "oh, you're not a business?"...

I told her, I do business from this address on eBay, and have had items shipped to here before using FedEx...

she proceeded to ask me for driving directions to my home...I gave them, clearly as possible, she said there should be no problem finding it from then on...good....I can expect my package soon then? "yes"...ok thank you, bye...

well, still no transmission, so I logged on this morning to recieve the following letter...

they sent the letter a WEEK after I got in touch with them the first time...now I realize, they probably have a ahitload of complaints with service such as this, but when I logged onto their site, and entered the tracking number, and found out that they were shipping it BACK to arizona...OMG!

I called them again, hit the zero, and spoke with a woman who said that it could not be stopped, it was on its way back to the shipper, and that he could request a refund for shipping...I told her that I had called before the date they shipped it back to him (I know this, becuase the woman I spoke with the first time told me it was still in Knoxville at that point)....was told that bisically it was not FedEx who was at fault, even though they had the right address...WTF? I bet they want their money again for their pathetic "service" if another attempt was to be made...

Jerry, appearently it is on the way back to you, I am sorry, I did all I could do with the idiots at their customer service department...FedEx sucks

FedEx lost some of my stuff about 6 weeks ago. Got re-imbursed from them, only cuz I demanded it. Never had a problem before or since, and I've used them for 6 1/2 years now.

Well the last thing I had shipped to me by UPS was interesting too. I found a note on my door about no one there to sign for package. I called UPS, explained that I'm never there till after 5pm and the package didn't need to be signed for, just left by the front door. You can't go to the UPS office to pick it up as it's on the truck. They said they couldn't contact the driver but would make sure it didn't go back to the shipper. (How do you do that when you can't contact the driver?) A week later I got another note on my door about it being the second attempt to deliver. He attached that note to the note I had on the door saying "UPS DRIVER PLEASE LEAVE THE PACKAGE BY THE DOOR" I again called UPS and got the same garbage about how they can't contact their drivers but they would tell him to leave the package as before. Several days later I finally got the package. The damned thing was here in town for 3 weeks riding around on a UPS truck. He dropped it off outside my open door and took off. That was on a Sunday... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

FEDEX GROUND SUCKS!!!
I bought a new, in the box, Walker radiator for my 40 off E-Bay at about a $200 savings. Came in with a tear in the box which wasn't in the pictures on the auction. Dumb ass driver said refuse it and file a claim. Had a dent in the AC condenser, which would have cost $75. Dumb ass me said OK. The claim dept. said I should have kept the radiator, so I said return it. Six weeks later they did; beat to shit. Gouged core, bent frame, gouged condenser, dented tank, etc. etc. Totally trashed. The seller stated the value at the selling price, and that's all they would pay, not the replacement price (my wholesale cost) Took me 6 months to get that.
I WILL NEVER USE THOSE IRRESPONSIBLE BASTARDS, AGAIN!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

How about less mail order and deal with a local shop?

Local shops that have stuff are wonderful, keeping business in the community and all, but...uhm.....there arent any LOCAL people who had a four speed saginaw that they would part with...

Fed Ex still sucks.

Would you reccommend NAPA, AUTOZONE, Checkers, KMart or Walmart as the best local place to buy a 13" Falcon wheel, a 97 carb, or a set of 40 ford spindles? Screw the local chain stores, I'd rather buy from a HAMBer or at least someone who can get what I need. Besides, I get tired of explaining to the high school graduate kids at the counter how to make change on a part that costs me 1/3 more than I can mail order it for. And if I mail order it, it's usually here faster than the local store can get it. None of them stock anything usefull anymore. Neon gas pedals, slip on seat covers and air freshiners they have, starter for a Ford or Chevy smallblock they can get in a couple/3 days. Starter for a Pontiac or Buick, they wouldn't have a clue how to look up... They deserve to die...

speaking of NAPA...the one in Ozark AR is pretty good...except for the guy that thinks all 47 chevrolet fleetmasters are four wheel drive...

The OWNER of the one in Ozark, Wayne Miner, is a car nut...he knows quite a bit of stuff that most parts store owners wont share with anyone (parts interchangability, etc etc). When I was in Ft Smith to buy the '59 biscayne that would become the "corvecayne", the fellow wouldnt take my check...Ran into Wayne at Lowes, and in conversation told him what was going on, he fronted me the money, told me to just pay him next time I came in the store!!! HELLUVA guy...

not to mention, he knows where the GOOD junkyards are where you can find decent stuff...and if he knows ya, he will tell ya...

back home, it was so much easier to do business locally...

I think I am going to move back to Arkansas...

I think the advent of Ebay has screwed most of us on that one. Got guys here who will shop you to death then mail order and ends up costing more because of freight. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Nitwits!!

The shippers are really tough on stuff anymore. It comes down to nobody gives a damn.
