My name is Hans. I'm an agriculture student at Chico State in Northern California. I grew up building 'rods with my father and godfather. My first ride was a bone stock 57 Bel-Air wagon with a 283 and the "power-pack" option. Then I bought a 51 three window pick-up that has not been touched and still sits stock in my back yard. My daily driver in high school was a 72 Skylark that I still have, bad engine, but an otherwise nice car. I dont have any current projects, but I'm in the process of trying to start a cheap roadster build. I found this message board through Daniel Strohl's web page. Right now I'm riding an 03 Sportster that I have turned in to a flat black bobber. But I think that the motorcycle will have to be sold in order to fund my roadster project. Anyway, I apologize for not posting an intro from the start, but I hope that this will suffice. Anyway, I love old skool, primer, bare bones choppers, bobbers, rods and customs, so I'm happy to be a member of the H.A.M.B.. Thanks once again in advance for your advice.

Sounds like you're in the right place. And I hope everyone notices he didn't use the phrase "rat rod". Sam must be spreading the word quite well! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif (You'll understand what I mean soon enuff, hotelsierra)

The best thing about the HAMB is if you are startin out dumb about hot rods, this is like a PHD program. There are so many people here with so much accumulated expertise.
Lots of bike guys here too.
Watch & learn.
