o/t but I got nowhere else to go

I know it's ot, but I need some help.
The turn signal lever on my 1981 chevy truck works if you push up for the right signal, but if you try to put it down for the left signal, you have to jimmy it around until it falls into a spot and hold it there. I've been asking around and no one has ever had to replace it. I've been looking at parts in lmctruck but don't know if I can just get a new lever, or if there is something else I have to do.

it's probably the inner plate for the switch thats broken. i have found the at checker/schucks/kragen. you need to get the whell off to see the part. it's the one that the arm attacheds to.

Once I take the wheel off I will be able to see it? Will it obviously be broken? Thanks for the help.

You will also need to get the lock plate off which requires a special tool to compress the thing down against the spring. I made one once so with a little ingenuity you can too.

Two hefty screwdrives and another set of hands work well. Push the lock plate down with the screwdrivers, the extra hands can remove the lock ring. Reassemble the same way. Broken part will be very evedent.
