94 carb power valve

I'm running an A four banger with a 94 carb, and under hard acceleration it coughs & splutters, presumably from the power valve flooding the engine. I've heard mentioned that the power valve can be plugged or blocked off, can anyone on here confirm this for me? Has anyone done it? If so, what's the procedure?

It is not recommended. In fact, it is discouraged. You can change the amount of vacuum required to open the valve by changing valves. If you think you don't need a power valve you can buy a null valve. himmelberg
