I'm JCAllison, and I was a hotrodder in the Southern California area in the 50s and 60s. I was born in 1939, and graduated from Chaffey Union High School in Ontario, California in 1957. I was a car striper during that time, and raced my Merc and Studebaker at the area dragstrips, Pomona, Colton, Fontana, Riverside, Lions, and San Fernando
I've had a number of cars, starting with a:
1931 Ford Model A, Crown Victoria, Two-Door Sedan with six KH 21" wheels (dual fender mounted wheel wells).
1942 Mercury Coupe
1947 Oldsmobile Two Door Sedan with a flathead six and vacuum shift.
1959 Studebaker Hawk, originally with a 259ci V8, but later with a 402 Packard with a Giovananni Roller Cam, 4 2V Carters, a Shaffer double disk clutch, PontoMoisson 4 speed transmission, a Laycock deNormanville O/D, a Number 44 Spicer 4:55 twin traction differential, Dunlop R5 tires, and moon wheel disks.

1967 VW Beetle
1967 Fiat Abarth OT 1000 Spider,
1968 VW Bus
1964 Chevrolet Four-Door Sedan
1968 Dodge Mail Van (with right hand steering)
And my present car is a
1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Four-Door, Hard-Top, Fast-Back, Police Interceptor, and from what I've been able to find out it is probably the only one in existence, if not the only one ever made.

I post over at the FordMuscleForum, and was relating to them about the Cook and Bedwell Dragster which first broke 150mph at Colton, and about Jazzy Nelson's Topolino doing 9s in the 130mph range.
Decided to see what I could find by Googling "Cook and Bedwell", and found this Forum.
It's like being home again! :)
Anyway, have lots of stories to swap, lots of esoterica, and minutae. Love to bench race, and have been around engines and cars as long as I can remember.
Would love to hear from any of you. Will be sixty-nine years old in three more days!
