Hi, I'm Kent. My latest project is a 49 Chevy pick-up that I'm building as a hot rod. It's got a Camaro 2.8 liter V-6, Borg Warner 5-speed, Corvette rear and a Mustang II front suspension.
My biggest problem is that I bought it as a true basket case. The guy I bought it from took it apart, then gave up on the project. It's been an experience trying to figure out what parts are and how they go back together, all the while modifying almost every piece!
But I'm just about done. The frame is done, engine, cab and front end, and I'm working on assembling and mounting the bed, back fenders and tailgate.
Question: What should the gap be between the cab and the front of the bed?
It's good to be here! Glad I found you guys.

Not many people look in this forum. To get an answer to your Question , go to hokey ass message board. look on right for search this forum. Click on and then type in something like chevy pickup specs or something like that and it will pull up what has been posted on the HAMB. If you try several things and get no answer. you can start a new thread and ask that question. search first. they don't like you to start threads if you don't search first.(just a bit of advise)Thanks,BOBBY FORD
