Got the Metal flake wheel on today,I had this wheel in storage since 1997 when I bought it at the Moon stand at the Turlock Swap meet!!`Also got Dennis' Goodies on today also,I had the voltage reg cover since 1998,the coil cover and battery cover I just got this week..Of course I had to ask Dennis for installation instructions on the battery cover...I looked like a caveman trying figure out how to light a fire for the first time when I got that cover..Thanks for the help Dennis..worked perfectly!! For you guys that don't know O Briens carries some real cool finned aluminum goodies and more!!

looks good, now get the blue paint out and get it between the rest of those fins. (looks like you'll be there awhile.)

I might just do that..its easy just paint the the whole thing blue and sand off the excess paint from the top of the fins..My friend actually painted my Edelbrock covers for me by hand with a brush...After I showed him the easy way he just gave me this look!! hahaha But its cool that he took the time to it by hand for me....

I really like Dennis's finned aluminum stuff, but personally I'd try and make the battery disappear, not call attention to it. Your engine looks really good--I'd want to minimize visual clutter and make it the focal point of the engine compartment...

Like in the bed maybe...That was the original plan too... I was going to mount the coil inside the cab also..but shit then there wouldnt be any goodies to aluminize!! But yeah the Battery might just go inside the bed,its also a matter of the cable being too close to the header right now.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not to be a tool, but that battery cover looks terribly awkward. It's just a piece of metal sitting on top of the battery. It might be OK if it was the lid to a box, but as is sits now, it's like a putting a sombrero on Marlon Brando.

Gotta tell ya, it's looking good. My dad's building a '65 though in more of a street rod style. I wish he would have gone a different direction with it, I guess it will be mine someday anyway. Anyway, i'm starting to like these trucks more and more, and despite the snorkel hood on yours, I really do like it.

Lookin' good Marcus. Thanks for the kind words. Now all you need is the finned radiator cap cover, small oil breather cover and maybe a 15: finned oval ait claner cover http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

PS when you order them remind me to throw in a couple of SS acorn nuts for the battery cover http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

yeah I dig the metalflake wheel alot but..I think the look I'm going for is Candy Blue with chromed reverse and whitewall slicks..So that Deluxe wheel will fit in with the over all scheme...

Looks great! Maybe you could cut those shafts down, lose the wungnuts, and put capnuts on.

i'm gonna remember that! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

what i'd maybe do with that battery, is make up some side covers, prolly out of some t&r naugahyde over some thin wood.
