This guy has two smaller issues that seem like they were goinf to be a quarterly deal. Were there any other issues like this or after these two did they start the thicker ones? Thanks

Those are the only two printed in that iteration. Then it was years later when Mark Morton took over the Hop Up publishing empire and made his own books. I don't think Morton had anything to do with those 1994 books.

But, those two books have some pretty neat stuff in them. Just not as nice as the latest offerings.

Correction- Morty had EVERYTHING to do with those issues. Without him those, and all following issues of Hop Up would not exist.

Didn't the Hop Up website say years ago, before they came out with the annuals, that they didn't publish the 1994 books but would try to bring back the good name? Evidently there were hard feelings with unfullfilled subscriptions.

The version of the truth that I heard was that Mark did those WITH A PARTNER.

The partner did a few bad things and Mark took over. He restarted it from ground zero - or less than ground zero because Hop Up's name had been besmerched. He tried to do good for the customers that delt with the first version of the reborn Hop Up.

Those magazines are the only two issues published and are pretty good.

As far as any wrongdoing, I think Mark has more than made up for any bad dealings he might have had some tangental association with.

Hop Up's #1

That's correct- the partner was a crook (Morty was behind the scenes)- Mark went through monumental tasks to make it right. But I'll stop because he likes to keep that on the DL- he's not into self promoting- just putting out a BITCHIN' mag. The shady one now does work for Bukaroo- he shoudn't be let back in the business.

You are right on Jason, Morty is one straight up guy. When those of us who had subscribed got the shaft, Morty made it good by getting us the first "Annual" without charge.

Hop Up is # 1

Morty is a stand up guy.As for his ex-coworkers,lets just say that the guy from back east and the german guy are both flakes. As a matter of fact I helped a little on those 2 issues and could see it going downhill. Can you say " Misappropriation of funds"
