painting cad plated parts ??

okay so i wanna paint my caliper brackets and my brake pedal assy and my steering arm and all are cad plated (from speedway). do i need to sand through the cad to the bare metal before i paint or can i shoot right over it?? is there any special prep for cad plated parts?? thanks.

Altered, it is my understanding that a strike coat of cad OR zinc makes for a great primer. I would simply de-grease with a mild solvent, prime and paint.

I usually wipe 'em down with vinigar first. Someone told me that it etches em a little and the paint sticks better.

A little zincchromate primer wouldn't hurt either, but it may be overkill. That's just the way I do it and it always works for me.
