The weather was absolutely perfect for a swap meet. Was about 50 degrees and no wind before the sun came up. Got to a little over 80 during the day and the crowds were in a buying mood. I sold my street-rod parts.....corvette rear end and Moostang front end.
I went shopping with the proceeds and scored a pair of repro 34 commercial headlights [with turn signals in 'em and halogen bulbs] and a pedal car for the entry of our house.
Saw a few good deals, like this 55 chevy..asking 1700 with incorrect title and he settled for 1500...no motor or trans.

The chevy was a screamin deal but the 8500 asking price for this 33 five window body and frame was a little too steep IMO

My AMF pedal car...can't wait to slam it, louver it and slap wheels and tires on it...

I scored the 34 commercia lites for 150 [270 new from speedy bill] and they kick ass but I was thinking 34 commercial lights were shallower and the ends came to a semi-point. Oh well, these are just ducky. I could do without the "streetrod" Viper red....

Got rid of a buncha uneeded stuff, came home a few hundred bucks to the good and scored some shit....a great day!
PS......... I missed the best deal of the day. A cherry pie 51 International shortbox stepside with a used but good running 302/C-4. He started at 3000 clams but I heard he dropped to $1000 by the end of the day and he left before I knew about the price drop! DOH!

Rocky, where was the swap meet today? Sure would have been more fun than what I had to do(honeydo list) switch two bed rooms around. Sure looks like ya had more fun!! That lil peddle car will look sweet in front of the house. I'll do some checkin with a couple of farmers that have a bunch of old tin sittin in the trees and give ya a shout, maybe do some vintage tin scrounging some Sunday before it gets really cold. Wild Bill.......the swap was the old Mel Alexander swap meet usually held at Council Bluffs Iowa at the Westfair location. This year it was moved to Manley Nebraska, about 30 miles south of Omaha. The combines were harvesting corn in the fields on all sides of this, the Cass County fairgrounds. It was a storybook day with crystal clear blue skys etc etc......

Yeah it was a perfect day to be out and about. Gail does a lot of stuff for me while I'm at work so when I had the day off she had this all afternoon project going so I thought better and helped her out, since she does let me do my thing with the old tin, besides it's a team effort at our house and that keeps the arguing down to almost none.
