after the nsra nats in louisville. and then the brickyard on sunday I am heading to michigan international speedway on august 9 and 10 to work with a bush team testing at the track those two days..
I was wondering if anyone is in that general area and can recommend a cool watering hole, or better yet any cool old yards that I can hit on the way back to PA?
thanks in advance

The "town" of Brooklyn, MI is pretty much made up of a big racetrack, a drug store, a go-kart track, a tire joint and a couple small shops...just a ruralMichigan community. They MAY have a bar...but probably only ONE, so unless you wanna roll a few miles up or down M-50...you'll probably be limited to whatever watering hole the town has to offer.
I've found some great deals on old cars (and trucks!) just be cruising the roads around there...there's a guy down in Hudson with a bunch of old cars scattered all over his property...but he wants WAY too much for his rusty junk.
Just check out the backyards and open barn doors in the area...I bought an old Ford pickup for pocket change about half a mile from the track a few years back!

Like "Sail Rabbit" said, there's not alot going on in Brooklyn but your more then welcome to come to the Detroit area after you obligations are over and hang out.
If you've never been to The Henry Ford Museum you really should visit since your going to be so close. There is also a really cool new Chrylser Museum. I've never been but folks that have said they liked it even better then Mister Ford's place.
PopeDownunder and his buddy will be in town at the same time so we're going to be living large that week hitting all the local cruz nites and probley having folks to the house after work one nite for a small BBQ. I've got plenty of room at the house here so your more then welcome to stay. Give it some thought and we'll talk about it at the Nats.

From your place take I94 EAST to Southfield Road exit (South), you kind of just merge off going right. It's on your left about 2 miles down. Just after you pass the Farmer Jack you'll see the driveway to get into the strip mall parking lot. Corner of Southfield Road and Dix.
