Heya fellas, I'm new to this site, workin on a 54 Belair project and had a few questions in regards to bumpers... thought you could give me some info maybe. I am lookin to change out both front and back. Probably go for new ones as apposed to re-chroming the old. Does anyone know if there is another set that'll fit without too much of a mod? I was lookin at pick-up bumpers... No one in these online stores seems to know if they're the same size or not...
:confused:thanks! -Michelle

as far as the front goes, for my money the solid one piece "california" bumpers are the ticket, as far as the rear goes it really depends if you are gonna run any other tail lights?
like if you were to run a set of 56 packards a 56 chevy bumper would work great.
another small thing that will always help, if you cut the heads off of the bolts and weld them in then weld up the holes so your bumpers don't have any bolt heads stickin out.

It does look like it is less expensive to buy bumpers than have them chromed. Back in the day it was now big deal, now it is like they are performing some miracle. They don't even do chrome in the state I live in anymore. Bummer.
Sounds like you have a cool project though, good luck
