Just dropping in to introduce myself. I've been into cars since I turned sixteen (which was back in the 80s, so I've seen way too much billet and pastel paint). My personal experience with hot rodded stuff has pretty much just been with street machines, but I love the earlier iron. I grew up taking rides with my dad in his dead-stock '27 Tudor, which we just got rebuilt and running again.
The beginnings of my own project involve one part: an Edmunds two-carb head for a Nash straight six. Not surprisingly, pops has a Nash as well. Maybe I'll build a T with a Nash mill in it...
My current driveable (kind of) project is a '67 Chevelle that my brother and I drag race when it's running. It's a bit of a sleeper. It should be making passes this summer when the new brakes and steering are sorted out.
I've also got a couple of Cad 500s sitting around, and I'd like to put those in something. The Chevelle is kind of boring with just a small block in it. I know those Cads fit, and I got reintroduced to this site from an ad placed here by a guy selling a 500 intake. Maybe I can cram that 500 in the 'Velle...
I've also had a bit of experience with two wheeled stuff. I had a '69 Triumph hardtail for a couple of years. Loved that thing, and it was badass when it ran. I worked on it probably as much as I rode it, maybe more.
I do photography and writing, and I'm always interested in making my mechanical stuff a part of those interests. At the moment I'm jonesing for the opportunity to shoot some vintage drag stuff - not the greatest feeling to have in the middle of winter in Indiana.
That's the quick and dirty of it for now. Looking forward to the experience here.
