Hmm, maybe I should do that intro I never got around to do?
My name is Heine and I´m from the capital in Denmark - Copenhagen.
I have always been in to cars, but it wasn´t until I was seventeen I worked on my first one.
It was a 1976 Mustang Fastback (yes, I know – but It had a 302 V8 and a automatic tranny).
I worked on it for 1 year, and when I finally got my drivers license it was ready for me. I actually got a second place on a car show for that one.
After a couple of years I was going back to school and it had to go, but after some (many) years it was time for another American car. We ended up with a 1970 Corvette conv. and changed the engine and tranny to a 406 cui backed up by a TH-700R4. That was fun, and made the asphalt beg for mercy…..but yet again it had to go, since the family grew to 3.
Now we have a 1950 Pontiac streamliner Fastback with a straight 8 and a hydramatic. I found it on craigslist and later here on the H.A.M.B. But it was easy to convince you guys that I was “the real deal” and not some scam artist from Nigeria! I therefore ended ob flying to San Francisco for 8 days back in October 2007 and pay the seller in cash……It was a extremely good trip/experience and I met some cool guys (thanks Gery and Dennis).
Now the Pontiac is in Denmark and in storage for the winter, but soon the spring will come and then its time to prepare it for inspections ect.
I hope the keep I “rockabilly” style and as true to the time period it from – I hope to install blocks in the rear and lower it about 2-3 inches in the front. It´s not going to be chopped or bagged since it´s illegal here in Denmark and the fine would be extremely severe.
In the years to come I hope to learn ALOT and have fun with it.
See you guys on the H.A.M.B !
