View Full Version : Photoshop a new look for my car

Could someone photoshop my car for me? I'm thinking of going Watson style. Keep it orange, with some kind of contrasting metalflake on the top (silver top maybe). Astro mod wheels and skinny whites. I'm wondering if I can pull of the look with an early 50s car. Usually this is more of a square car late 50s early 60s deal.

Thanks in advance.
Kevin

I was gonna Photochop your car, but since you want a Watson influence I'll start with the man hisself.

Purple, I'd appreciate it if you would photo-chop mine up a little. I liked it for the first 5 years, now it looks gay to me. Winter is coming, and I need to do something out in the garage. All input as to how to un-homo my car is appreciated.

Hell yes!

As far as the wheels or hub cap deal, I'm a little worried about the overall effect of the Astro mods on my car. Some cars can make them look awesome, and others make the car look like a "lowrider bomb". I got nothing against lowriders, but that's just not the look I'm after.

There is a killer 53 Chevy in the current issue of The Rodders Journal, check it out. I think it's what you're looking for.

Here is my try. Used Donzie's wheels version cause I can't remember how to do that part. I got a really good article on Watson . If you want, PM me and I'll send it to you.

I like the 'flake roof but I also like the stainless between the roof and body. I'd add that if I could. Do you want that much scalloping? Nice, but looks busy (IMO) on that car. The body lines are much softer on those year Chevys. A scallop that follows the body lines, I feel, is much more tasteful. Again, just my opinion.

Well I too like scallops that run front to back. But when I saw purple showing all these different styles, especially the one that goes with this quote, I thought I'd try it.

I like the version that Monster mocked up! Perhaps that full panle scallop treatment would get old quickly, but it certainly looks the part for the 60s look.

I think a simple wheel swap will get your blood flowing again. I love chrome reverse wheels, so that always gets my vote. And perhaps if you wanted to stay simple with the paint, just change it up -- white primer on the body and flake the roof.

What I might tackle over the winter would be to get the rear lower. Notch out the trunk floor and frame and push the rear down a few inches. Maybe add air shocks or even air bags for control.

I'm going to try the wheel/ tire swap first to see if it does make me like it again. The back is going to have to get serious to lower it any more. The snubbers are removed and the axle still sits about 1 1/2 inches from bottoming. I've been dragging my feet on c-notching the frame to go lower. I guess it's time. I might also try to flake the roof over the winter along with the wheels.

I'm having a pretty hard time finding the wheels for sale. I did a search here and looked at all the astro supreme threads, but still haven't found a decent place to buy from.

I really like the color of the car. I think a do-it-yourself scallop job wouldn't be so hard. 'flake the roof, add your wheel/tire combo (I too like chrome reverse but that's just a personal thing). I think it will take on a whole new look. Keep us posted with your progress.
It's a great lookin' car.
