331 caddy motor questions

Hey, anyone out there familiar with caddy 331 engines? I hear that most of them have noisy top ends and my first one has a loud rattle coming from one valve cover that sounds heavier than the usual lifter noise, almost a clunking. Need some caddy expertise here! I'm pulling the cover tonight and checking it out, but thought I'd ask here first. Thanks guys!

any non adjustable hydraulic rocker set up after alot of milage will start to make noise it's inevitable... you can remedy this by a set of adj rockers or pushrods...Other than that just live with it unitl you rebuild it...
