Presently getting my 8BA Flathead built. .125 over, Max 1 cam, mercury crank. looks like about 275 cu.in and 7.7:1 comp. I still haven't found, or for that matter decided on, an intake. Any ideas on the best way to go here. Are there differances between the 38-48 and the 49-53 intakes I would need to watch for as I shop around.

Welcome from Texas. I'm not a flat head guy, but i would suggest a search. Play around with different ways of asking the search feature to find some info on what you looking for.

Also, after you introduce your self, you can look in to posting a question. First try to use the tech archive and the regular search feature or some of the peole hear will bust your balls for not looking first.

This form is a gold mine of info if you look and ask. just look first.

Good luck,
Jay

Still shopping for a car for the flattie. Helping friends with their cars I was always preaching the flatthead over the SBC's. They found me a deal on a useable block so I had to follow through. Would like a 40ish coupe or maybe a 30's pickup. We'll see what comes along.
