Hey!
For all the guys on here who have a love for the two-wheeled motorized machines----
I've been looking for an oil tank to run on my bonny,
And I found this solid looking mooneyes tank.
But, the price is outta my range...
Any chance anybody know where I can get one cheaper?
Or possibly used?
(hint-hint)
Thanks!

Check on ebay see them all the time , you should just get one of them chrome cylinder one run you about 90-120 bucks or try Jireh cycles. com, I'm sure you won't find a deal on a moon tank
i'm sure the bike shop i got mine from still has some, aluminum hex tanks, NOS from the 70's, i think like $70, buy a couple and flip one on ebay and they'll both be paid for! iffin you want let me know and i can get you contact info, or if you're in no big hurry, send me the moolah and next time i'm in denver i can hit em up for you.

the picture didn't show up, just a red X
I assume this is a chopper? Tons of stuff out there but none of its free. From my perspective this is my hobby and I am willing to spend the money to get what I want to make my bike/car do what I want it to or look the way I want it to. Sometimes I can't buy what I want so I do the "traditional" thing and build it myself.

ElP - I'm assuming from that pic (hard to tell) that the teardrop on the rear tube is your oil tank - very cool. Is that one of the things you built?

Yeah Ernie, the teardrop tank behind the primary is for my oil. It is 60 gauge 5052 aluminum beaten out by hand and welded up. I did buy the weld in bungs and cap. Now that I have a lathe I can make those myself.
I am in the process of building clubman bars and rear sets for my 1957 T110 Triumph. I will post pics as soon as I finish. But once I am done screwing with the Trumpet, I am going to start fabricating a whole new frame for the Sportster. More than likely the gas tank (wich is very customized) and the oil tank will get shit canned. I may put that stuff up for auction, but not just yet.

Hey Steve
If you want to borrow one of my rear peg sets to copy drop me an e-mail. Might be easier than starting blind.

My friend makes kickass round tanks that are already plumbed for Brits. I carry them at my shop. Shoot me a PM if you're interested, and I can try to get a photo to send you. We use them on all our bikes, and never had a problem with one...
