I'm sure part of this question has been answered before but I can't find it. What is the best value out there for a pair of repro 32 Ford rails? I'm not really concerned about the crossmembers. This is for a long term '31 on duece rails project.

I have a complete '40 Willys original chassis that I don't think I'm ever going to use and I think I'm going to offer it in trade for some rails but I'm not sure if its close to even or not. Anybody wanting to build a real gasser, here's a great starting place.

Thanks .
Dan

Thanks Choprods, that bit of info filled in the blanks. My next search brought up quite a few references to rails and complete frames, including A's on 32 frames and tips.

Where are Speedway's made? Are they ASC?

I think that ASC is really the only ones to consider.

on a similar subject. Who makes a good welded frame (cross members welded in). I dont trust my welding yet so I am thinking of buying a perimeter frame.

Boones, see Dirks post above.
Can't beat a Kiwi Connection chassis for the money.
I drove a Squeak Bell built car for 10 years and it was one of the best driving rods I've ever owned!

Boones, if you aren't sure of your welding skills, then I'd recommend that you have the frame shop weld on your suspension brackets, and possible even the engine, trans, steering, etc. brackets while they're at it. Most shops do this, and it is often fairly reasonable. If you want custom fab work, in your area, I'd go see Buster Henderson in Rock Hill SC. My favorite, since they've built a custom chassis for me before, is Ionia Rod Shop in MI. HotRodDrummer's Dad runs the shop. See the post by Kustombuilder on Chassis, which was run within the last couple of weeks. Excellent work. Never heard of Kiwi Connection before, so I went to their web site, and their price is unbeatable. I can't speak for the quality of their work, however. Also, you'll have to pay shipping cross-country. In other words, give Buster a call.

Tom...........Buster said to tell you Hello!

I was at his shop today (Monday the 19th). He helped with my frame almost 20 years ago. He is a good guy. He comes here on the HAMB some.

You may have seen my 32 in Rock Hill. Buster has a photo of it on his office wall.

That photo was taken at the GoodGuys event in Charlotte..........back a few years ago.

DR, the last (and only, unfortunately) time that I went to Buster's shop was in '97, when he had an open house. Went for a ride in his 3-w, nice car ! His tudor was in progress, and I remember seeing an in-progress gennie deuce roadster there. Was that yours ? If so, he performed a minor miracle !

No....that one belonged to a friend. Mine (although gennie) was finished way before that one came to Buster's.

Buster now has 3 steel Deuces on the road. The blue 3W, the maroon Tudor sedan and a light brown sedan delivery. All with 350 SBC's and automatics.

He is building a new house so he is side tracked on his 51 Mercury for now.

Later.....
