Got a phone call from a buddy Thursday that his uncle had a 53 bel air he wanted to sell.Well what the hell i went and checked it out and now it is in my garage. It was a old rod built in the 60's in much needed help. It is set up for a sbc/turbo350. I am going to put blocks on the nova rear to get it down but the front? What is a cheap easy way to get it down. I do have a s-10 frame from a old projectt left from a few years ago. I measured the frame width at the tranny crossmember and they are almost the same width. Has anyone stubbed one of these like this? I do have a complete pinto front susp.stub also but it looks alfull flimsy. Any ideas on getting that old monster from under the front and up to date so to speak.

A cheap way to bring down the front is to chop the rivets off the spring cup on the lower a-arm and space it down. The kits made for shoeboxes are very similar. I think brockman's sells a kit for the chevy.

There's also lowered springs and drop spindles available for the car.
