hey its been a while since my last post, been busy making myself single, DOH! more time in the garage now i guess, which is a good thing cause i missed it. the F-1 is coming along pretty good. and if i plan on running it to cumberland this year i better not miss a night in the shop. tonite i setup my motor and trans mounts, mounted my column, and booster and pedal. pics are the column mount and steering shaft. using an s-10 coulumn for now. kinda overdid it on the "rollcage" mounting bracket. alright ill shut up.

its actually an 83 chevy s-10 extended cab short bed frame. works out great. all of the so-what trucks are running them. its easy and cheap.

That column drop is somewhat similar to how I did mine in my 35!!! I used a Camaro column, which is also very similar. The column mount, in conjuction with the forewall mount, makes for a very solid mount.
I also used a similar method (but with larger diamater round stock) to make my motor mounts in my 1949 F1. If you plan it well, and triangulate, they are very very strong, and in my opnion, look very cool too.
Good job, thanks for sharing!
Very well done.
