I went to get a vent window cut for my 49 F1 and they are charging me 40.00 for 1 chunk, seems a bit high to me since it was only a few years ago I got the door glass cut for my old 55 chevy for 20.00 some dollars at a different place but they refused to cut the glass for me this time saying something about being liable cause of the type of glass it needs? sounded fishy to me

40.00 bucks Canadian seem about right for a chunk of flat glass? probably roughly 30.00 US

In today's market? Yeah, sounds right. Overpriced everything.

Compair it to what you were paying for Steak and Beer a couple years ago and it seems right.

I just paid $300 for:
2-wing windows
2-door glass
2-quarter glass
all installed
but I also have another $300 into the rubbers and felt channels for all of it too.
so, almost 6 bills in just side glass!

it all relative, I used to cut and install vent glasses all day long, then go across the street for a dollar pitcher of beer.
It's only money. In the Portland Or. area its hard to find a glass shop that has someone that knows how to cut glass anymore, They hire glass installers that open packages and install.
I had a guy give me twenty yesterday to mount his two vent glasses in their frames http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

40.00 is high for 1 vent but the reason is the cost to produce glass has skyrocketed in the last 5 years and shit runs down hill. This site is a blast, have'nt laughed so hard in years from the back and forth banter. I'm new to this computer stuff so go easy on me, and I'm armed to the teeth.

my buddy has a glass shop, you need to pay for a certain amount of glass cut out of bigger sizes and the glass you dont use can sit for ever because it is a small size or odd, you end up paying for the whole sheet size is why,
