I starte a thread this morning titled "Pray for my wife's father". There were several posts to it this morning. When I came back from lunch, the thread was gone.
Did I do something wrong?
Thank You,
Harold

You didn't do anything wrong at all... But this is a hot rod forum and we do our best to keep stuff related to hot rods/customs and the community around that.

"No Religion" has been a long standing rule around here. I would appreciate it if you respected that rule or not posted at all...
Look fellas, we have plenty of posts around here supporting our lost members or members in need. If we allowed prayer posts by everyone for everyone they knew, we would have a forum full of prayers and not much else. This isn't the place for that... This is a hot rod forum.

Ryan:
As a new member maybe I'm misssing something, but I'm having a hard time understanding why the following post http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226762
was closed (apparently by you) after less than half an hour. Maybe I've made a mistake in signing up with this forum. I'd appreciate an explanation. Thanks, JD

Notice all the replies pertaining to "here we go again!" and stuff like that? It's because that topic has been brought up time and time again... Rather than regurgitate it and the drama that always follows, Alex closed it...

The rest will be unveiled on a need to know basis. Because you need to know you will be notified by having your post deleted and that is all you need to know.
I too am learning the ins and outs of posting here. And will probably get my privates slapped for posting this.;) It won't be the first or last time... But in a year or 2's time we will probably be laughing about some other newbies frustrations.:)
As pissed as I am, you do have to admit the admin. do a pretty good job of keeping a demographic that is by nature anti-establishment, under control.
Stick it out tho, there is more tech advice here than elsewhere!

Amen Ryan!
Wait, let me re-phrase that, I don't wanna sound religious...
Right on Ryan.
And my hopes are with ya Herold.

that sir is an indefutable fact
and I believe that is the one thing that binds us all together
we start talking any of the things on the short list above
and without a doubt there will be
division, drama and insult.
not that there is anything wrong with that,
sometimes it can be the best way to get shit settled
it's just a hell of a lot harder to manage
