here is my latest car....

the guy who built it is moving to the states
so all the credits so far goes to a guy named stefan Carlsson, he will move to the washington area so maybe in the future you will se something cool he built over there...

plans

* primer to begin with so i can drive it, real paint next year or something like that

* remove cad 59 "french buckets" and put the rear lights in the bumper guards

* remove gas filler and put in trunk

* have fun

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif now u see why i couldnt pass this deal.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

just perfect...
thinking of good hubcaps.. hmm flippers could be nice
but is the new 15" repro flippers anyway near the look of the old 16" flippers... chryslers had 15" stock wheels then and it has now aswell...

did they make 15" flippers back in the day?

cadillac sombreros is always nice but some how feel wierd t o put on a chrysler... any cool mopar hubcaps i can use
has to be some thing with an early 50ies late 40ies look

That has a nice look to it. I especially like the grill floater. I agree with you removing the 59 cad tailights and moving the lights into the bumper guards - that will really clean up the back end.

You may want to consider sectioning a little bit out of the front bumper where it wraps around the side so that you can pull the front bumper back into the car more - seems to stick out a ways.

Also maybe section about 6" out of the wrap around sides of the back bumper so it does not go all the way up to the wheel well. Or, maybe not - just drive and enjoy.

Nice score.

You're a lucky swede. I do say. Badass cruiser. What the muscle in that beast? Stock? Gonna keep it that way?

07-16-2004, 12:33 PM
Changing the grill really makes the car. Looks really cool!!

Glasshole is running a early 50s Plymouth hubcap on his. Looks good and it's different. It has the ship in the middle of it.

yep all stock, its in quite good condition aswell so I'll keep it like that till it breaks, i do have an 318 thats quite good laying around, but a 331 hemi seems like a cooler idea though... but anyhow i don't belive i have to bother abouth the engine, unless i start to think its to slow or something

i got one 46-48 olds grille hanging on a wall in my garage http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif , im not 100% sure about the floating grille i have now, not bad but could be better but its there now and will probally keep it for a while, i mean i want to get it running and not add one more thing to fix to start with
but it might be changed later on

side views the rear bumper looks ok to me, it not into the wheel openings atleast http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

the rear bumper is atleast moved back like hmm 3 inches or something like that.. the front bumper isnt so good attached now so it hangs down like 1 inch more then it should.

but thanx for the tip, might be something to do to make em less heavy the bumpers...
I'll look into it seems like a thing to consider

Hey Deamon. I'm parting out this 46 Windsor or what's left of it. Got a good dash and a trunk full of window trim, small parts ect. I also got a set of 15" accessory wide trim rings (they almost cover the whole wheel) and couple original hubcap sets from a '47 Dodge and '46 Chrysler (need to go and dig them out tomorrow). If you want send me your normal email addy and I get you pic's.

Yeah the floating grill gives it kind of a more meaner look. ANd its something a little different. I'd keep it, if it were mine. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice ride, I do like the floating grill bar. You dont see many of them today.

I would change the taillights personally, but hey thats your car. I have always loved the taillights in the bumper gaurds.

Very nice, Deamon. I really dig the front treatment. The taillight-idea is just what it needs.

(damn, is that Windsor considered a partscar in Germany?)

SWEET. I don't know why they're so popular and plentiful in Europe, but around here no one seems to like 'em. I do, though!

i sure agree the builder sure got the chop welldone,
even all the garnishes are chopped, and i belive i have all except front and rear windows ready chopped aswell
sure is a huge differance compareing the 1/4 windws stock and chopped, i belive it was something like a 3"front and 4" rear chop...

the guy who built it is an autobody repairman
everything looks really welldone, http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

and after playing in paintshop

also one quite "different" approach in the tail bumper guards is that the top has round clear plexi put un for turn signals,
maybe looks clearer just to use red lenses for everything, but maybe i should put in white and orange lamps, really, it dont hurt to have reverse signals aswell. might help me from getting rear ended while going in reverse or something
