I want to get a welder and was looking at this type of thing, but can't find much info about them. Has anyone used one?
This is one example:
90 Amp Inverter TIG (http://www.krazearc.com/90amp.html)
Thanks

I use them almost daily. Miller is what we have at work and over the last few years we have bought about 6 of them. They are all still working fine, even though two of them have been subjected to wet conditions for over a year (Food Plant work).

Duty cycle is 100% on the Millers and they will also switch themselves internally to run off 115v or 220v. On 220v, I have used them on Stainless plate up to 3/8" thick. The Stinger isn't really designed to be used at Max amperage for long periods of time, but we haven't melted any down yet.

They also come with a Stick lead and on 220v they weld as good as a buzzbox.

So there is no disadvantage?
Its little, its lightweight, its cheap...
Seems too good to be true.
A 90 amp one is good up to 3/8" steel? Or are the ones you work with more powerful?

yes ,the price of $289 sounds reasonable ,but i think that is for the welder only set up as a stick welder.....no tig torch,no regulator , no tank , no gas line. what is the cost all set up as a tig?

i have an L-Tec (formerly linde, now esab) 130 amp tig welder with an inverter and i love it

A welder that I believe is the same but ready to TIG except for the gas bottle sells on Ebay for $369-$445.
Seems like an OK deal, but who makes it?? Little Inverter TIG on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3827506587&ssPage Name=STRK:MEWA:IT)

Hi Just in case someone is interested , I purchased one a few months ago
from a local retail source.. I wish I knew about that ebay price I paid "much too much" $600 with the same tig torch, too late now ..

Anyway these welders are manufactured by Fimer one of the top Inverter producers in europe they are also behind Daytona Mig and esab
http://www.fimer.com/sitoweb/ing/searchtechup.asp?categoria=mma&inverter=i
besides the price I paid, it's a solid machine it has the best arc I have ever used but this is my first inverter so I can't compare to any other brands
the lack of a foot control is not an issue for me but remember that, if you decide to go for it I sure love the size and weight 8+lbs it's a joy to use
