Hi all, just stopping by to say hi. Heard all kinds of good and bad about this board so I thought I would sign up and check it out for myself. I live in "upstate NY" abt 20 mi. south of Buffalo.Been in this general area all my life. Always been around cars in many ways including racing them.I acquired a 39 Pontiac coupe from my brother and proceded to buid it into a custom hot rod. 15 years later it`s done (10 years of it apart in my barn). I had so much fun building it that I wanted to start another one.So I acquired a 37 Ford two door sedan from a friend and am in the process of building a "rat rod".I`m using the 39 Pontiac frame(will graft the 37 straight axle to it)78 Cadillac 425 cu in engine,400 turbo automatic, and caddy rear end.Yeah it`ll be bad:cool:

Why not use the '37 frame, put some quality work into it, and make a hot rod or a custom instead of a "rat"? Oh, also welcome.

Barz 51, the 37 frame is too far gone, rails rotted through. My description of a rat rod is a hot rod built out of parts from other cars like the old days. Dont have the money to build your "quality"hot rod. And why do you think rats lack "quality"?work.
