There is one for sale just like that by my house for $3500, probably about $1800 more than it's worth. I was thinking of doing the same thing, so it sounds like a kickass idea to me! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

hmmmm...looks like I'm in the minority here, yet again. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Not that it pertains to your current "dilema", but, I think it would look cool with dumps tubes as well, and run the exhaust out the back.
Now...back to all the "just do it" comments.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don't freak out about the steering hookup. You can build a column out of the original that will hook up to whatever box you use.
I've done it, so I know you can too. All it takes is a saw, a grinder, and a bearing from your local bearing supply (5 bucks or so).

mercury Bill
07-15-2004, 03:37 PM
Steering, on my comet i just have to run a tie rod from the box to the passenger side wheel the lower drag link will steer the driver side. No mods at all to the pitmen arm, no box relocation, very simple. Tilt front end?? You definatly want to do subframe connectors. Tilt frontends on unibody cars suck, just an oppinion.

07-15-2004, 05:42 PM
Exactly!!!

You can use the stock box. On my comet it lines up perfectly

I'm pretty sure I'm going this route too, I'm just trying to figure out a way to keep granada disc brakes on. the main reason for me was to take some weight off I'd like a little drop in the axle so it wont be up in the clouds.
go for the teardrop hood and a 64 fiberglass front bumper.
