View Full Version : Summer pics for a fall night, our Open House.
These are some pics from our shops open house this summer. Sorry for the crappy resolution.
Lets see, this was right after Scott showed up in the Rocky 33, he hates himself so he parked around the corner. I had a couple Hamms in me and got beligerent, took his keys and parked the truck front and center. What you see is the effect that truck has on most crowds, it was swamped all night as was Scott for questions.........me also, everyone thought I still owned it. You see here in Rapid City it wasnt the Rocky 33, it was just an enigma. And some guys knew I drove it.
Also to the right of the Rocky 33 is the HAMBs own BenD and his lovely wife Missy(Melissa?). They were in the area on vacation and got to experience some of my BBQ. We fed 150+ that night.
Two cars that were at Bonneville. The one on the right is my boss' and also hit the LA Raoster show this year. Both are Sodak cars. Real hot rods and DRIVEN!
Guess nobody cares about pics of cars anymore http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I enjoyed them! Especially the caption info. That blown yellow coupe is really something else, I'll bet that's a blast to drive!

Hey, mellow out T.....few people are home to check out the HAMB on Friday night when the weather is still fairly warm.. I just tuned in myself.. Love your photos. I'd llike to have seen a few of the inside of the shop too. I still cannot believe the Rocky 33 generates interest like it does. It's beyond me. I like the jello shoebox, myself. 'course it needs a few "refining touches" like a mega slam and some tasteful primer spots.....thanks for the photos

Dont have many more pics, I was busy cooking and didnt get the camera out til later. That yello coupe is a 28 Dodge owned by a friend and commandeered by his wife. She took one run down the strip a couple years ago and said it was hers. They have fought traction problems until this years and are slowly putting boost and carberation back into it. It runs somewhere in the 7s on the 1/8th but is capable of more. The car he gets to drive instead of the yello one is that Black Cabriolet pictured, 14s in the 1/8th aint flattys cool http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The Lilac 58 Olds is owned by a good customer of ours. It is mint and very low milage. Daves dad bought it new in 58. We bagged it a couple years ago other than that it is stock. Dave wont make any big changes while his mom is still around, it would break her heart.
The Yellow Shoebox belongs to our local Speed shop owner. Every car he has ever driven gets painted that same Yellow!!!! The local paint guys named it after him, Willian Yellow. I think after all these years his 55 Gal drum must be getting close to empty. The picture doesnt show it but the car has a nice rake.
The shop, I will try to snap some prgross pics tonight and post them. Several cool projects going.
The Rocky 33, what is there to say?
Genes Model A.....20 years of collecting parts and planning went into this car. Everything Gene has is powered by a Nailhead. He has racked up 20K+ since he put it on the road 4 summers ago. Not bad considering it had not been anywhere except North and South Dakota until this summer. It runs a Halibrand Quickie. Has several sets of wheels to change the look including drag slicks. Runs 8.70s in the 1/8th.
I will try to round up some more pics tonight.
