I started painting this type of fire 2 weeks ago. It is alot tougher than they make it look. The man that originated this is Mike Lavallee from www.killerpaint.com He has an instructional DVD out on how to do them step by step. Here are some of the panels I have done in the past week. Oh and I've been airbrushing since October 04

Nice work there, dubie. Do you have any tips, tricks, or other suggestions?

You'd probably earn a spot in the Tech O'Matic if you could do a step-by-step tutorial!

Sure! I am actually painting another green fire panel tonight. I'll make sure I take some step by step pics and post it up tomorrow, with some directions. I learned from watching a buddy of mine that has the Kilelr Paint DVD, so this isn't Mike's way to a tee, but it should give you the basics. I am a newbie to this real fire myself, but I'm willing to share anything I can ,if you're interested

Cool stuff, too, Jersery Fink. How about some tech tips? the biggest thing is to use the right paint,3 basecoat colors, then 3 kandy colors, you cant get the depth with out the kandy.if ya dont have killerpaints dvd see if you can get a copy of rides where he did that 34

I saw the Killer Paint stuff at this year's Seattle Roadster Show. To see too many vehicles with that same paint job in the same place was a little overkill in my opinion. They were all black basecoat (except for one red T-bird that had some awesome Native American murals in it) and the novelty just wears off. The pics were taken with my crappy camera phone.

I'm no paint snob by any means and, to me, that stuff didn't look as good in person as it does in photos. I was amazed by it when I first saw it though. I think it was on Monster Garage.

The different colors that dubie is doing look really super nice!
