OK guys, what I have here is four (4) wide five racing hubs and two brake calipers. I bought these to mock-up a project I have going, but found upon arrival that they were the wrong offset (they don't match the hubs I will be running on the finished auto), so here they are.
There are two matching aluminum hubs, one oddball aluminum hub, and one magnesium hub. All the hubs are made buy HOWE Racing, and all the hubs have the same dimensions (if not exactly the same outward appearance). All the hubs will fit a 3/4 ton Ford rear spindle snout. Racers refer to this snout as the "Wide 5" snout because it's now only used with hubs that have a wide five wheel pattern. At any rate, you can use them on old Ford 3/4 ton rear ends, any old V8 rear with a "Heavy Duty" snout kit, or any rear end at all if you buy some weld-on snouts and go to town. The all have pilot nosed 5/8" coarse thread wheel studs. These hubs will work on either the front or the rear of the vehicle.
If you're in the market for a disc brake conversion, these hubs and calipers will get you three quarters of the way there without a lot of trouble (or cost). Rotors to fit these hubs should cost less than $40 a piece, and weld on brackets for any number of different calipers will run you less than $10 a piece. Stick the rotors on the hubs, stick the hubs on the rear end housing, put the calipers on the rotors (with pads installed obviously), then shoot some compressed air into the caliper fitting to clamp the pads onto the rotor. This locates the bracket, and you can just weld it right on. Easy peasy, have the brakes installed in less than an hour.
They are very strong, and very light, and in this case, very cheap. Normally, they cost between $150-$350 ea (depending on material and brand), but I'll sell this whole lot for what I have in it. That's four hubs, four sets of bearings, and two calipers for $205 + shipping.
If you don't want all four hubs or you'd just like the calipers, I'd take $45 for the calipers, $95 for the two matching hubs, or $80 for the mismatched pair. All those prices DO NOT include shipping.
Pictars!
