View Full Version : Any cool turn signal switches?
i was wondering if you guys have come across any cool older turn signal switches. i think i will probably run turnsignals, at least in the rear. probably only the rear. we have one that has a rubber wheel that rides on the steering wheel, to cancel it. might run it, but its huge. dont remember what it came from. what else have you guys seen?

I have used 67 and early VW bus turn signal assy. There small and kind of round and fit really nice under a steering wheel.
I have a subminiture toggle switch mounted on the column. It is used to activate relays that do the switching to make the turn signals work. Very small and hard to notice. Works for me. Add another switch and you can have 4-ways!

The Brits used a lot of cool little signal switches on the horn hub for turn signals. They often called them "trafficators", controlling either signal lights, or "semaphores", those little wand thingies that sprung out the side of the B pillars or somewhere.
The switchgear looks a LOT like ignition advance and "mixture" controls on a lot of old (esp Brit) cars.
I've got one like from a Triumph TR2 (or 3), except it's got another switch, at about "2 o'clock" for Hi-Lo beam too. Dunno WHAT it's off, just know its (gasp) Lucas).
Gonna run it like Andy, just power some relays....spare the switches the amps.
Here's a pic of one from an Austin-Healey 3000.
