Dutchman,
We would be most grateful if you could manage to snap a few pics of Lee playing that "Cat Head " bass.....also, if you see a fag named Jason Burns who happens to be on tour with them, take away his hash! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I saw them in 1991(?) in Oslo, plus I got to see the Brian Setzers band a couple of years ago. Too bad they aare not coming up here on this tour.

Speaking of comebacks; I just saw The Pixies a week a go. I last saw them the summer 1989. But this years show is handsdown the best gig I have ever seen!

You suck Maurice, I hate you.
Why the fuck aren't they touring in their home country? Assholes.

I saw the Stray Cats on their first tour in England, musta been '81 or so in Blackpool. They blew my punk rock mind.
Setzer came out with 2 chicks on his arm and immediately started insulting our podunk town.
It eventually broke down into a brawl between the Stray Cats road crew and some feisty teddy boys. It was an amazing experience.
I saw them in '84 again when I moved to the States.
I talked to Lee Rocker a few years ago and I brought up that Blackpool show and he actually remembered it, He told me that his road crew and the teds were arreseted that night and thrown together in the same police van.

Oh the memories.

Somewhere around here I've got a Stray Cats ticket stub from 1984...

I was just checking out the tour dates... they're playing the Blue Ball Festival in Switzerland? What do you have to do to qualify for that?!

Sailor?! Where the hell have you been, man?? I did a retrospective of your art on a Friday art show a couple of months ago, since someone mentioned your name and Brush didn't know your work.

Brian Setzer and Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) got together in a studio a few years ago, and did a rendition of "Little Deuce Coupe" that was absolutely electrifying, better than the original.
There's a mpeg clip of it somewhere on the 'net, I think it was something like surfdog.com ....

Hey Big A. I have been busy making our flat in Oslo ready for sale, selling it and buying a thirties house back at the coast and so on. Plus I somehow needed a break from our little corner of the net, -but I have looked in on you guys every now and then all along. Did not get to see the retrospect you mention, though, but thanks for showing my work.
Come fall (we move to the new house in september), -I promise to try and be more regular on here.

Here's a few pics for ya!

It was a damn good show!! I was pretty drunk and don't remember every bit, but I do remember there were a lot of fuckin' morons on the first couple rows who looked like they had never been to a rock 'n roll show before! Some verbal assaults here and there. Lucky for them it stayed with that. It's always the same... Rock 'n roll is "IN" these days overhere and there's always the dorks who don't know anything about but steal away all the tickets to go to shows like this just to act cool even though they don't even know what they're actually watching.
They didn't even let me through to snap a few pics and when the crowd got too wild from the back they started moaning about being pushed around and stuff... At a certain moment is got pretty wild though and thanks to the wild bunch I managed to get to the front pretty far and took a few photos...
There was a big sign at the entrance which said that taking pics was prohibited. Well f*ck the sign!! I saw sooo many people taking pics, I was happy I didn't bring my cam back to the car!
We even had crazy tattooed freak "Fat Dennis" from Peter Pan Speed Rock" who stormed the stage at one time. That was too funny!
The 'half liter Heinekens' sure tasted good and it really was a "Rumble in Amsterdam"!!!

And oh yeah! Tommorrow we're gonna see Southern Culture On The Skids!
Yee haaw!!

Ok, I'm gonna ask a favor here. Since they're only touring over there, if they come out with a live CD from their shows I would really appreciate a PM from someone and I'll get you the money to send me one.

Hey voodoo, impossible, they didn't even exist in '78-'79.
The Bloodless Pharoahs did, but I don't think they ever played down south.
