am i going to far with my dash ???????

i spent 5 hours making 1 garnish molding to bled the 57 ford fairlane dash into the door i still dont know how im going to finish it where it meets below the lower rounded part????? it is in a 1931 ford pick up. have i gone too far with this whole set up ???? i got 15 hours into making the dash fit and bolt in. at this rate im ready to put it on the parts pile and just buy a fiberglass 32 dash.

i am also thinking i want to bring the round part all the way around the back of the seat and have a waterfall between the seats

Looks like you're off to a damn good start...just keep pluggin' away at it and you'll be done before ya know it! Don't worry about how much TIME you have into it...if the final result takes the truck to the level you're aiming for...then it's all worth it!

I know what you mean - my dash (52 buick in a 40 chevy) took me at least a month's worth of extra time, but now I am glad I made the effort - I think it helps complete the car and make it more unique.

I had the same problems with the lower corners as they originally blended into the door on the 52 buick. I made them roll back into the door jamb/cowl by grafting in the corners from my old chevy dash while the top corners will still flow out into the door garnish molding like they did on the buick.

Dash looks good, the idea of the continued line and waterfall is GREAT!

My 48 ford has a 48 buick dash I spent the best part of a week to get it to the unfinished state that it's in. I understand the blend, I joined 17 pieces of metal to get the flow I was looking for.
