I was wondering if Weiand DRAGSTAR intakes for a sbc are hard to find, or rare. My buddys got one and he doesn't know if he should run that one or get one from offy.

If you have one, it isn't rare! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Use it! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
(or give it to me and I'll send you and ultra rare cast iron two barrel intake with a provision for a neat little device that helps to thwart emissions...I'll beven blast and paint it for ya!)

What's the difference? So long as it works for his application I say use it. If it's rare or not, it wouldn't matter to me as long as it works.
I'm with hack though, way to much carb for my tastes. I got a tri-carb setup for my pick up that sounded great when I bought it, but I'll end up selling it because it's too much for my little 283. Keep it simple is my motto.

A good friend of mine gave me a very old McGirk 6 X 2 intake a few weeks ago. I have a bunch of Stromberg 94s and they will not fit, got to have 97s. I've looked around at the past few swap meets for 97s, and I think you can buy them from Vintage Speed cheaper then what some of these vendors want for what appears to be junk! One guy at Goodguys this weekend wanted $175 bucks for some old dirty, rusty 97s. Is $1200 for carbs, linkage and fuel lines worth the "look"? I think one carb is the way to go, I have a pair of fours on my current ride, and with the cost of gas today, I think the multi carb manifolds make a better conversation piece then a performance item!
