Hey All,
I've checked this site a bunch of times to see if my latest brain birth had any merit and to get ideas from those who have been there, done that. Serving as a local pastor (in my case anyway) means that all projects are low dollar by definition. Vintage Schwinns, Junky Ricer Motorcycle (wrecked it with the help of an inattentive driver) or my latest, '65 Fairlane 2 door hardtop.
The 'Lane looks like I just drove it off my high school parking lot in 1979. Flat black paint, slot mags, red interior with no headliner and homemade door panels. But it's got fat tires, vintage Sun tach, 4bbl 302/C4 and noisy dual exhaust. If it can't be fast it might as well be loud. My lovely wife thinks it's nasty so that means I'm on the right track so far.
I started pinstriping a couple years ago and hope to be good enough to do it for $ someday. Meanwhile I keep practicing on anything that will hold still long enough.
Thanks for a great site,
Rock On,
S

Striping is fun! Didn't get to do much over the summer and my skills really declined. Started practicing again now that it's too cold to be outside. I think I'll be OK. Planning to go to Grand Rapids and DEtroit shows to stripe again this year. Lots of learning to be done

I work in youth ministry as well. I am interested in pinstriping also. What brushes did you start with?

I got a Mack 00 and 000 to start with. I always go back to the 00 however. Don't know why that 000 won't behave...might have been too aggressive when I trimmed it. Be sure you trim your brush before you start using it. It's important. Yahoo groups has a pinstriper page forum that is good for eavesdropping and getting questions answered
